Influence of Sunlight on Skin Carcinogenesis

1 The Department of Dermatology and Syphilology of the New York University—Post-Graduate Medical School, and the Skin and Cancer Unit of the New York University Hospital, New York, New York.

1. It appears quite evident that excessive chronic exposure to sunlight is an important contributory factor in the development of skin cancer.

2. Several facts that confirm the carcinogenic action of sunlight are discussed.
