Intraoperative Systemic Tumor Embolism

Systemic tumor embolism may rarely occur during pulmonary resection for bronchogenic carcinoma and result in fatality. A successful removal of a saddle embolus consisting of tumor tissue at the bifurcation of the aorta following lobectomy for squamous cell carcinoma is reported.
