The cure rate in stage I and stage II non-seminomatous testicular cancer should approach 100 percent. The data show that even without adjuvant chemotherapy almost all these patients can be cured. The role of aggressive adjuvant chemotherapy needs to be defined in a random, prospective study. In stage III disease, PVB resulted in a 70 percent cure rate in 296 patients. This cure rate is unparalleled in cancer treatment and represents a major advance in the field of medical oncology.
