The National Cancer Data Base: a vital commitment
G. P. Murphy
Since the 1930s the American Cancer Society and the American College of
Surgeons have been working together to create and support programs that
collect and report on data on cancer patient care at a national level. The
National Cancer Data Base is the direct result of this commitment. Funded
through private donations and dependent on the voluntary, nonreimbursed
time of hospital staff, it provides vital information on cancer patient
care in the United States.
