Systemic treatment of cancer
I. H. Krakoff
University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, USA.
For the past 50 years, the search has continued for systematically
administered agents that can produce profound and lasting effects on human
cancers. This has led to the use of many cytoxically and hormonally active
agents and, more recently, to the use of biologic agents. The author
presents the 10th in a series of periodic updates in this journal on the
current status of systematic treatment of cancer.
